Meetings

Meetings usually start at 7.30pm and alternate between being held in Grantley and Sawley Village Halls.
The agenda for each meeting is displayed in the 'Agendas & Minutes' section (via the left side of this page) and on the noticeboards in front of Grantley Village Hall and on Sawley Village Green at least three clear days before. Agendas should be checked for any changes to the date, time and venue of meetings.

The Parish Council meets six times a year for 'ordinary' meetings when a full agenda of business is considered. These meetings are usually held in January, March, May, July, September and November.

Extraordinary meetings may be called if there are new planning applications or other urgent items of business to consider.

The Parish Council holds the Annual Parish Council Meeting in May each year. This is the 'AGM' of the Parish Council and is a formal meeting to deal with procedural matters such as appointing a Chairman for the forthcoming year and approving the Council's accounts.

Two Annual Parish Meetings are held between 1st March and 1st June each year - one in Grantley (usually in March) the other in Sawley (usually in May). These are meetings of the electors of the parish and offer an opportunity to come together and find out what's been happening during the past year.
